Messages that Matter – The Basic Series

The ‘messages that matter’ are what every TalkBox account needs to have in place to ensure you are engaging with your customers and staying top of mind. This series of communications is about establishing and maintaining your relationship so you can get that next visit. The ‘Basic Series’ covers the key messages that should be simple to set up, even if you don’t have a loyalty program or behavioural information about your customers.

  1. The Messages That Matter starts with your Opt-In message

The most important 100 characters you will ever write about your business is the invitation for someone to join your database. It sets the scene for how your relationship will unfold through communications, and if you get it wrong, it can affect the percentage of customers who elect to receive your marketing.

  1. Roll out the welcome mat and say hi with Welcome and Anniversary messages

When someone comes into your business or calls you, the first thing you do is say hi and welcome them. The same should happen when a customer joins your database.  It’s even more important if they came via a sign-up form and may not have even visited your business yet.

Setting up a great Welcome Message is important, and celebrating a customer’s anniversary on your database is another great way to engage and acknowledge how important your customers are to your business. Creating and activating an Anniversary Message is easy in TalkBox, and you can even create a Formula Field to merge in the number of years a customer has been with you.

  1. It’s time to party with Birthday and Milestone Birthday messages

Sending a Birthday Message is easy, as long as you have captured a customer’s DOB. Birthdays and Milestone Birthdays are not only a chance to acknowledge your customer, but they can also help your business secure lucrative function and catering opportunities.

Don’t have your customers’ DOB as part of your sign-up? No problem.  TalkBox can send an automated Update Details campaign asking customers for their DOB.

If that’s not your style, you can simply choose the date of their sign-up to be a Celebrate Me date. You can have a bit of fun and create a real event about it.

  1. Getting to know your customers and what they think with Update Details and Feedback

We mentioned Update Details campaigns as part of our Birthday messages, but you can use this campaign to learn even more about your customers.  From capturing their favourite sporting team to understanding whether they are a local, they can help you deepen the understanding of your customer and what they are likely to want to hear from you.

Feedback is a gift! With TalkBox, you can not only automate the capture of feedback, but you can also use it to drive reviews from your happy customers. Learn more about using Feedback and calculating your Net Promoter Score with TalkBox here

The ‘Messages That Matter’ are all about helping you get closer to your customer and driving more engagement and visits. The ‘Basic Series’ is the minimum your account should be sending to keep in touch with customers with messages that are about them.
