Marketing your business to the right consumer is the key to keeping your audience engaged. This is now even easier with TalkBox Generation Filters.
Based on McCrindle Research’s Generations, we can now easily add these filters to your TalkBox account so you can segment your marketing messages more effectively. Contact us at support@impactdata.com.au.
When it comes to your venue, who are your target consumers or if you are a large scale venue targeting a variety of consumers, how can you use a customers age to target your messages more effectively?
Here’s some tips that may help:
- Builders + Boomers (1925-1945 / 1946-1964) – older age group, not as tech savvy and are probably more a daytime crowd. How do you attract them, get them on your loyalty or membership program and perhaps win that big 70th birthday function?
- Generation X (1965-1979) – they have older kids, love a bit of nostalgia and might be coming back onto the dating scene
- Generation Y (1980-1994) – smack bang in the midst of child rearing, think kids meals, playgrounds and free delivery of family meal deals
- Generation Z (1995-2009) – young, hip and not big drinkers. They have disposable income and are true digital natives so take that into account with what you market to them
- The Alphas (2010-2024) – still in school but with keen awareness of brands and what’s cool
Once you have added the filters to your TalkBox account, take a look at the distribution across the age groups. It might be that you only resonate with one or two generations. This might help you to better target your communications or rethink your strategy a little.
If your TalkBox database doesn’t have a high percentage of DOB captured, we can help with an Update Details campaign. This is a chance to capture a customers age, reward them on their birthday, target them for functions for milestone years and of course ask a couple of other key questions to help build a deeper understanding of your customers.
